The Fellowship Program

The Hauser Center Doctoral Fellowship program was created in 1998 and launched in 1999 to support full-time research and dissertation writing on a nonprofit sector/civil society topic.  The Fellowship is open to all students registered in a doctoral or advanced degree program at any of Harvards faculties from any discipline with research interests in the nonprofit/NGO sector, both domestically and internationally.  One of the main goals of the Fellowship is to increase the number of new scholars who think about their work in part as contributing to the world of nonprofit scholarship.  These new scholars are deeply engaged with questions that are furthering our understanding of domestic and global nonprofit/NGO sector issues.

The Hauser Center is not currently accepting applications for Hauser Center Doctoral Fellows. The Center is developing phase two of its fellowship program and will be revising the design based on what we've learned from our first phase of the program. In the interim, the Center will consider engaging doctoral students in specific research projects here at the Center in order to continue attracting the brightest minds to our subjects of interest
