The Nonprofit Governance and Accountability Project

The Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations and Harvard Law School are joint sponsors of a five-year, $2 million, University-wide research initiative on nonprofit governance and accountability.  The project includes two programs: a Research Fund that supports promising work on governance and accountability by Harvard faculty; as well as a Community of Practice that will develop the intellectual frameworks and faculty collaboration needed to build a coherent body of new knowledge, primarily by organizing interdisciplinary faculty seminars. Women in Informal Employment Globalizing and Organizing

Women in Informal Employment: Globalizing and Organizing (WIEGO) is a worldwide coalition of institutions and individuals concerned with improving the status of women in the economy's informal sector.

The coalition was born out of the conviction that women workers - particularly those from low-income households - are concentrated in the informal sector. Although the informal sector contributes to both poverty alleviation and economic growth, it remains largely invisible in official statistics and policies. Thus, WIEGO strives to improve the status of the informal sector through compiling better statistics, conducting research and developing programs and policies.   For more information, please visit CLICK HERE

The Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative (CSR) at the Kennedy School of Government is a multi-disciplinary program that undertakes research, education and outreach activities to study and enhance the public role of private enterprise.  It focuses on exploring the intersection between corporate responsibility, corporate governance and strategy, public policy, and the media.  The CSR Initiative is a cooperative effort between the Center for Business and Government, Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations, Center for Public Leadership and the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.  The initiative is supported by a group of founding sponsors:  ChevronTexaco, The Coca-Cola Company, General Motors, and Walter H. Shorenstein.
